Context
The creation of a wayfinding system for the city of Lagos was a university group project. It began with fieldwork in the city, including observations, sketches, and interviews with tourists and residents to understand the wayfinding issues of the place. We also researched the town's history, which informed the project's direction. We focused on developing a coherent signage system, including orientation, interpretation, street, and door signage, using corten steel and Portuguese typefaces to reflect Lagos' identity. We also created icons, illustrations, maps, and a colour palette based on user feedback, alongside a final report documenting the process.
